Lokpal Dismisses Corruption Complaint Against BJP MP
A former police officer named Amitabh Thakur filed a complaint against a politician, Nishikant Dubey, saying he and his wife had more money and property than they should have.
The Lokpal, which is like a big judge for corruption cases, looked at the complaint and said it wasn't serious or true.
They said Thakur didn't have enough proof and that the complaint was just causing trouble.
They also said Thakur was being unfair by making up new complaints as the case went on.
The Lokpal decided not to punish Dubey and even let Thakur off from a warning about making the complaint public.
Thakur is currently in jail for another case.
Dubey said his wife's assets increased because of market value, not because of any illegal activities.
The Lokpal agreed with Dubey and said the complaint seemed politically motivated.
Lokpal dismissed a corruption complaint against BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, calling it frivolous and vexatious.
Complainant Amitabh Thakur, an ex-IPS officer, alleged Dubey acquired disproportionate assets.
Lokpal found no substantial evidence to support Thakur's allegations.
Thakur is currently jailed in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, for a separate fraud case.
A petition has been filed regarding alleged irregularities in the handling of Thakur's seized belongings.
