Voter Notices Rise Across Adilabad, Boath and Mancherial Urban Areas

Voter Notices Rise Across Adilabad, Boath and Mancherial Urban Areas

Officials found many possible problems in voter lists in three Assembly constituencies.

Some records had mistakes in names, surnames or ages.

Other voters were marked absent, shifted, deceased or duplicated.

This led to notices being sent to many people.

Congress leaders said some genuine urban voters could be affected.

They linked some discrepancies to migration, deaths and surname changes after marriage.

Party workers called BLA-2s were asked to visit voters’ homes and check the notices.

Officials and party leaders said some small mistakes can be corrected by tahsildars.

The figures supplied for Boath contain an apparent inconsistency because the notices listed exceed the stated number of electors.
