Apple’s New AI-Focused Mac Mini and Mac Studio Launch
Apple has released new Mac mini and Mac Studio computers in India.
The smaller Mac mini is aimed at students, developers, creators and small businesses.
The more powerful Mac Studio is designed for demanding work such as 8K video editing, 3D rendering and large AI models.
Both computers use new Apple chips that can perform some AI tasks directly on the device.
This means users may not need to send every task to an online AI data center.
Apple says the M6 Mac mini is much faster than the previous generation for AI, graphics and general computing.
The Mac Studio can connect with other Mac Studios to work on very large AI programs.
Prices vary widely depending on the chip, memory and model.
Apple’s upgraded Mac mini and Mac Studio desktops went on sale in India on September 22.
The Mac mini comes with M6 or M5 Pro chips, while the Mac Studio offers M5 Max or M5 Ultra processors.
Apple says the computers can run AI tasks locally, including coding, image processing, local models and automated workflows.
The Mac Studio supports clustered systems through RDMA over Thunderbolt, which Apple says delivers three times faster distributed AI inference than one unit.
Reported Indian prices start at Rs 99,900 or Rs 99,990 for the M6 Mac mini and rise to Rs 6,29,900 for the M5 Ultra Mac Studio.

Value of local processing
Apple’s local-AI pitch
Apple says owning a Mac avoids recurring per-token charges and lets customers run AI tasks repeatedly on their own computers.
Market and infrastructure challenges
Apple is entering enterprise computing from a relatively small position, with about 4.6% of the enterprise desktop market compared with 91.3% for Windows, according to cited IDC data.
Using Macs for large AI workloads
Apple’s local-AI pitch
Apple says several Mac Studio systems can be clustered through RDMA over Thunderbolt and deliver three times faster distributed AI inference than one unit; it demonstrated four systems running a trillion-parameter model.
Market and infrastructure challenges
The reports frame data-center infrastructure and Nvidia-based systems as competing options, while Apple’s claim is presented as the company’s pitch rather than an independently verified comparison.
