Bastar and Kondagaon Removed from LWE List
Bastar and Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh are no longer considered areas heavily affected by Maoist activity.
This change is because the situation has improved due to less violence and better security operations.
These areas will now be known as 'districts of legacy and thrust.'
While there is progress, vigilance and development are still needed.
The government aims to fully eliminate the Naxal problem across the entire Bastar Range.
This reclassification recognizes the positive impact of anti-Naxal efforts, making the region safer.
Bastar and Kondagaon districts in Chhattisgarh have been removed from the list of Left Wing Extremism (LWE)-affected areas.
The districts are now categorized as 'districts of legacy and thrust', indicating reduced Maoist activity.
Other districts in Bastar division remain categorized as 'most affected LWE districts'.
The re-categorization follows a decline in Maoist violence and high voter turnout in recent elections.
Effective anti-Naxal operations have contributed to positive outcomes in the Bastar Range.
