OHRC recommends third gender option for Odisha jobs
The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has suggested that the state government should add a 'Third Gender/Transgender' option in job application forms.
They also recommended that at least 1% of government jobs should be reserved for transgender people.
This recommendation came after a transgender person named Sony Sil complained that they couldn't apply for a government job exam because there was no option for their gender.
The OHRC wants to make sure that transgender people have the same opportunities as everyone else.
