Mumbai Police Arrest Two in Dubai Gold Fraud and Extortion Case

Mumbai police have arrested two former workers from a jewellery shop in Dubai.

The shop’s manager says they threatened him and demanded ₹50 lakh.

He also alleges that they took real gold jewellery weighing 470 grams and replaced it with imitation pieces.

The gold was valued at about ₹55 lakh.

Other workers reportedly noticed something was wrong when they checked the shop’s stock in June.

Police say the accused were arrested in Gujarat and West Bengal.

A Mumbai court allowed police to question them for one day.

Investigators are checking what happened to the gold and where the money went.

The allegations have not been proven in court.
