Govt Signs Pacts for Coal Production in 3 Blocks
The government of India has signed agreements with a company called Damodar Valley Corporation to start producing coal from three new blocks.
These blocks are called Dhulia North, Mandakini B, and Pirpainti Barahat.
The government says this is important because it will help India make more of its own coal, which is needed for energy.
The three blocks together can produce a lot of coal, about 49 million tonnes every year.
This will also create jobs for many people, around 66,248, and bring in a lot of money for the country.
The government is doing this to make sure India has enough energy and to help the economy grow.
The Ministry of Coal signed agreements with Damodar Valley Corporation for three commercial coal blocks: Dhulia North, Mandakini B, and Pirpainti Barahat.
These blocks were auctioned under the 13th round of commercial coal mining auctions.
The blocks have a cumulative Peak Rated Capacity of 49 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).
The projects are expected to generate an annual revenue of Rs 4,621 crore and attract a capital investment of Rs 7,350 crore.
The development is projected to create around 66,248 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
