UK Launches Paid Military Gap Year
The UK is starting a new program where young people can spend a year in the military, getting paid and learning new skills.
This is like a gap year after school.
The government wants to do this to help more people join the army, navy, and air force.
Right now, fewer people are joining these services.
The program is inspired by a similar one in Australia.
Other countries in Europe are also doing things like this to prepare for potential threats.
The UK hopes to start with about 150 people each year and maybe expand it later.
They will share more details about the program soon.
