PM Modi Reviews Infrastructure Projects via PRAGATI
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting to check on big building projects worth over ₹40,000 crore.
He uses a special system called PRAGATI to help make sure these projects get done on time.
The government has offered this system to all states, so they can use it too.
The system has helped solve lots of problems, like getting land for projects and making sure everything is approved.
Since it started, PRAGATI has helped solve nearly one problem every working day.
The most common problems are about getting land and making sure the environment is protected.
The system has also helped the government spend more money on important projects, like roads, trains, and power plants.
The cabinet secretary said there are no plans to change the land acquisition policy, which is a big part of the delays.
The PRAGATI system has a special way to follow up on problems and make sure they get solved quickly.
Some of the biggest projects that were helped by PRAGATI include a new train line in Jammu and Srinagar and a new highway between New Delhi and Mumbai.
PM Modi reviewed 382 infrastructure projects worth over ₹40,000 crore under the PRAGATI platform, resolving 2,958 of 3,187 issues raised.
The PRAGATI platform is being offered to states, allowing them to set their own project thresholds for monitoring and issue resolution.
Key issues resolved include land acquisition (35-42%), forest/environmental clearances, right of way, construction approvals, and power/utility matters.
Capital outlay has increased 3.6-fold from 2014-15 to 2025-26, with roads & highways (114 projects), railways (109), and power (54) being top sectors.
PRAGATI has accelerated project implementation, with notable examples including the Navi Mumbai airport and Bogibeel bridge completed years ahead of schedule.
