Telangana Resumes SLBC Tunnel Work

Telangana Resumes SLBC Tunnel Work

Almost a year after a roof collapse killed eight workers, Telangana is ready to restart work on the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel.

The tunnel is very long, about 44 kilometers, and will help bring water to dry areas and villages with bad water.

The government will use new, safer methods to build the tunnel.

They will work day and night to finish it by 2027.

Workers will get a pay raise to help them feel better about going back to work.

The tunnel is important for the state, especially for areas with water problems.

Meanwhile, Telangana is in a legal dispute with Andhra Pradesh over water sharing from the Polavaram-Nallamala Link project.
