US Treasury Blocks $2 Billion in Cyber Fraud Proceeds

The US Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has stopped nearly $2 billion in stolen money from cyber fraud.

This money was taken from over 5,700 American individuals and businesses.

FinCEN works with law enforcement to find and return this money.

They also stopped a group called the Huione Group from laundering $4 billion in illegal money.

FinCEN is also setting up a programme to reward people who report financial crimes.

There is a debate about whether the financial surveillance system is effective or too costly.
