Girls Excel at Dr. Dipti Sur Memorial Sports C’ship
A big sports event called the Dr. Dipti Sur Memorial Multi Sports Championship for Girls happened in Hyderabad.
It was a two-day event where girls from different schools played sports like cricket, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and some traditional Indian games.
More than 550 girls participated, and the best teams were from Army Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya No.
1, and TMREIS.
The event was started by a lady from LIC, and a special guest from the US Consulate and a Brigadier were there to give out prizes.
The event was to show how sports can help girls grow and learn.
The two-day Dr. Dipti Sur Memorial Multi Sports Championship for Girls concluded successfully on December 23 at Col. C. K. Nayudu Stadium, Masab Tank.
Around 550 young athletes participated in various sports including Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Track and Field, Kabaddi, and Kho-Kho.
Army Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Golconda, and TMREIS were the top performers in the championship.
The event was inaugurated by Sandhya Rani, Senior Divisional Manager, LIC, Hyderabad, and the prize distribution ceremony was attended by Emilia Smith from the US Consulate and Brigadier S V Kulkarni.
The championship aimed to empower young girls through competitive sports and highlight the transformative power of sports and education in youth development.
