CJP Founder Heads to Delhi for Jantar Mantar Protest
Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke left Mumbai for Delhi on Saturday.
He planned to protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Dipke left a hotel in Worli for the airport at about 6:50 in the morning.
A party official said he was expected to arrive in Delhi by 10 a.m.
At the airport, Dipke said the government was scared because of the restrictions in Delhi.
Police had not given permission for the protest.
Authorities announced closures at metro station gates, cancelled many trains and suspended internet service in part of the city for 24 hours.
Officials said the steps were intended to maintain law and order.
