India’s Account Aggregator Ecosystem Facilitates Rs 3.82 Lakh Crore Loans
Account Aggregators let people share their financial information with lenders using consent.
A Sahamati report said this system helped support many loans in FY26.
The loans were worth about Rs 3.82 lakh crore in total.
Banks and other finance companies used the system to assess borrowers.
It is now being used for home loans and property-backed loans, not just unsecured loans.
Some borrowers were getting credit for the first time.
Women also received a notable share of the loans.
More information from sources such as GST, CBDT and EPFO could help the system grow further.
The Account Aggregator ecosystem facilitated an estimated Rs 3.82 lakh crore across 3.68 crore loans in FY26.
AA-enabled lending represented 8.4 per cent of retail and MSME lending by value and 11.8 per cent by volume.
Home loans and loans against property reached 1.09 lakh loans worth Rs 20,777 crore, up 624 per cent year-on-year.
Banks accounted for 47.3 per cent of AA-enabled lending by value in the second half of FY26.
New-to-credit borrowers represented 18.2 per cent of loan originations by volume, while women accounted for 19.8 per cent of volumes and 19.1 per cent of value.
