Mumbai Collector Acquires Husain Painting at Pundole’s Auction
A young art collector in Mumbai named Abeer Abrol bought a painting by famous artist M.F. Husain at an auction.
The painting is part of a series and shows a woman, a gramophone, and a dog.
It sold for a lot of money, more than expected!
Abrol believes the woman in the painting looks like the singer Lata Mangeshkar.
He already owns other Husain paintings and collects art to celebrate Indian culture and history.
Mumbai-based art collector Abeer Vivek Abrol acquired an M.F. Husain painting at a Pundole's auction.
The painting is a 2004 acrylic on canvas from the "Our Planet Called Earth" series.
The painting fetched a hammer price of ₹3,00,00,000, exceeding the presale estimate.
The artwork features a veiled woman, a gramophone, and a dog, potentially representing Lata Mangeshkar.
