HCCB Lays Off 300 Employees
Coca-Cola India's bottling arm, HCCB, is letting go of about 200-300 employees.
This is to help the company make more money and work better.
HCCB has around 5,000 employees and makes and sells drinks like Coca-Cola, Thums Up, Sprite, and Minute Maid juices.
The company also sold some of its bottling operations in different parts of India.
Last year, the company made less money and sold less, partly because of bad weather during the summer.
The company says this change is small and won't affect how they work.
A big investor, Jubilant Bhartia Group, now owns 40% of the company.
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) is laying off 200-300 employees as part of a restructuring exercise.
HCCB employs about 5,000 people and operates 15 manufacturing facilities across India.
The layoffs affect functions such as sales, supply chain, distribution, and bottling operations.
HCCB reported a 73% fall in net profit to Rs 756.64 crore in FY25, with revenue declining 9% to Rs 12,751.29 crore.
The company attributed the decline to a higher base in FY24 and subdued demand due to unseasonal rainfall during peak summer months.
