Music Festivals Celebrate Classical Arts in India
Two big music festivals happened in India to celebrate classical music.
The SwarZankar Music Festival was in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and the ITC Sangeet Sammelan was in Kolkata.
Both festivals had many famous musicians and dancers performing.
They played different kinds of music like flute, sitar, and vocals.
People really enjoyed the performances and clapped a lot.
The festivals started with young musicians and ended with very experienced ones.
The last day of each festival ended with a beautiful song that made everyone feel happy and peaceful.
The 15th SwarZankar Music Festival and 54th ITC Sangeet Sammelan featured renowned classical music artists and dancers.
The festivals were held from December 5 to December 7, with SwarZankar at MIT campus grounds in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and ITC Sangeet Sammelan in Kolkata.
Notable performances included a Kathak dance by Moushumi Jaju, sitar recitals by Purbayan Chatterjee, and vocal performances by Rahul Deshpande, Manjusha Patil, and Pt Sanjeev Abhyankar at SwarZankar, and flute recital by Pranjal Ghatak, vocal recitals by Subhra Guha, and a tabla duet by Pandit Nayan Ghosh and Ishaan Ghosh at ITC Sangeet Sammelan.
The festivals featured a variety of classical music genres, including thumri, jugalbandi, and ghazal, with standing ovations for several performances.
The final day of both festivals concluded with soulful performances by Aarti Ankalikar-Tikekar and Omkar Dadarkar, marking the end of the 15th SwarZankar Music Festival and 54th ITC Sangeet Sammelan respectively.
