Air India Receives First Diamond DA42 Trainers for Amravati FTO
Air India has received its first two Diamond DA42NG trainer aircraft for a new pilot training school in Amravati.
These are special planes used to teach new pilots how to fly.
Air India is spending a lot of money (Rs 400 crore) to build this school, which will be the biggest in South Asia.
They have ordered 34 of these planes and will also have other smaller planes from Piper Aircraft.
Once ready, the school will train 180 new pilots every year.
After training in Amravati, the pilots will go to another school in Gurugram to learn more before they can fly for Air India.
Air India received the first two Diamond DA42NG trainer aircraft for its Flying Training Organisation (FTO) in Amravati.
The aircraft are part of an order of 34 Diamond DA42NG planes for multi-engine training of cadet pilots.
