JU Installs Arsenic Removal Kit at School for Safe Water
Imagine tiny filters made by scientists that clean water.
These filters, put in a school, take out yucky stuff like arsenic and iron that can make people sick.
The filters use special nano particles to grab these bad things and also stop any germs from growing.
The school principal wanted this so everyone, not just the students, could drink clean water.
This helps people because some water in the area has dangerous stuff in it.
Jadavpur University's chemical engineering department installed an arsenic removal kit at RKM school.
The ceramic-based system removes arsenic and iron from groundwater.
The project is funded by the Department of Science and Technology.
The system is accessible to students and the neighborhood.
The filter uses nano particles to absorb heavy metals and inhibit bacterial growth.
