Seven-Year-Old Boy Bags Grade 8 in GCSE Maths
Jivyan is a seven-year-old boy who lives in the United Kingdom.
He took a difficult GCSE maths exam that most students take when they are about 16.
He scored 196 out of 240 and received Grade 8, which is equivalent to an A. Jivyan had hoped for the highest Grade 9, but he was still very happy with his result.
He likes maths because he enjoys solving difficult problems in different ways.
His parents began teaching him at home so he could learn at a pace that suited him.
They use puzzles, games, apps, practical examples and AI to make lessons interesting.
Jivyan also plays chess, football and tennis and spends time with friends.
He hopes to study A-level Maths and Further Maths and eventually invent useful, affordable robots and technology.
His parents say he should continue learning while also enjoying a normal childhood.
Jivyan Reddy Dhruva, aged seven, scored 196 out of 240 in Pearson Edexcel GCSE Higher Mathematics.
He earned Grade 8, equivalent to an A, across three papers usually taken by 16-year-olds.
Jivyan took the exam in May and received his result alongside other GCSE students the following week.
After attending a mainstream primary school, he began home education in February to learn at a faster pace.
His parents use games, apps, puzzles, conversations and AI tools while encouraging him to enjoy friends, clubs and a normal childhood.
