Five arrested, police suspended in extortion racket

In the Dalkhola and Chopra areas of North Dinajpur district, a group was extorting money from truck drivers.

They claimed to be providing reflective number plates and other services.

The chief minister found out about this and told the police to arrest the people involved.

Five people were arrested, and three police officers and one civic volunteer were suspended for helping the extortionists.

The chief minister also told all police superintendents to watch the highways closely to prevent such incidents in the future.
