Amit Shah to make Parliament statement on Delhi protest crackdown

Students in Delhi protested last month because exam papers were leaked, and during a march to Parliament security forces hit some of them with batons.

The opposition says students were also shot with pellet guns.

Amit Shah is the Home Minister, the person in charge of police matters.

The opposition wants Mr. Shah to tell Parliament who gave the order to use that force.

The government says Mr. Shah will speak, but only if the opposition stays quiet and doesn't interrupt.

Rahul Gandhi, the opposition leader, says he will not accept that until Mr. Shah answers who ordered the firing.

Health Minister J P Nadda says the opposition is causing chaos instead of talking calmly.

Because of the fight, Parliament has been stuck and hasn't been able to discuss many important new laws.

The Parliament session ends on August 13, and everyone is trying to find an agreement so it can work again.
