Banerjee names newborn, aids BJP workers
Abhishek Banerjee, a leader from the TMC party, visited a hospital in Rampurhat to meet Sunali Khatun, who had just given birth to a baby boy.
Sunali and her family had been sent to Bangladesh by the Delhi Police a few months ago because they were suspected of being illegal migrants.
The Supreme Court ordered Sunali and her eight-year-old son to return to India.
Sunali's family asked Abhishek Banerjee to name the newborn baby.
He named the baby 'Apon,' which means 'our own.'
Abhishek Banerjee said that the baby was named 'Apon' because the central government had made them feel distant, but now they are considered their own.
He also mentioned that they will continue to help the family and bring back Sunali's husband, Danish Sheikh, who is still in Bangladesh.
Additionally, Abhishek Banerjee met the families of two BJP workers who were arrested in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi as alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators.
He criticized the BJP for not supporting these workers and questioned the responsibility of BJP leaders towards their constituents.
