Ranabaali Sets October 16 Dussehra Release After Delay
Ranabaali is a new historical action movie starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna.
Vijay plays a rebel named Ranabaali, and Rashmika plays his wife, Jayamma.
The movie was first planned for September 11, but it will now come out worldwide on October 16, 2026.
One report says Rashmika’s injury may have delayed the production, although the official announcement did not give a reason.
The story takes place in South India during British rule in the 19th century.
It follows a man who fights against the British and stands up for local people.
Arnold Vosloo plays a British officer named Sir Theodore Hector.
The filmmakers say the story is based on different historical accounts and is not a biography of one real person.
Ranabaali will release worldwide on October 16, 2026, after being postponed from September 11.
The period action drama stars Vijay Deverakonda as Ranabaali and Rashmika Mandanna as his wife, Jayamma.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film is set in 19th-century South India during British colonial rule.
Arnold Vosloo plays British antagonist Sir Theodore Hector, while Vinod Sagar and Luke McGibney are also in the cast.
The filmmakers describe Ranabaali as a cinematic reconstruction inspired by real incidents, oral histories and suppressed records rather than a biopic.
