2023 Train Shooting: Victim's Wife Opposes Bail
In 2023, a former railway police officer named Chetansinh Chaudhary killed four people on a train.
He targeted three Muslim men and one police officer.
The court is now deciding whether to give him bail, which is like letting him out of jail while he waits for his trial.
The wife of one of the victims says Chaudhary should not be let out because he knew what he was doing and was not mentally ill.
The court will make a decision later this month.
So far, 16 people have told the court what they saw happen.
Former RPF constable Chetansinh Chaudhary killed four passengers on a train in July 2023.
Victims included three Muslim men and one police officer, Tikaram Meena.
Chaudhary allegedly targeted victims based on their religion.
Chaudhary's bail plea was opposed by the victim's wife, who argued he was of sound mind.
The court will hear the bail plea later this month, with 16 witnesses already deposed.
