Commercial LPG Price Hike Raises Costs for Food Businesses

Commercial cooking-gas cylinders have become more expensive.

The latest increase began on October 1.

In Andhra Pradesh, a cylinder now costs more than Rs 3,065.

Hotels and restaurants use this gas to cook food.

Small businesses such as tea stalls and tiffin centres also depend on it.

Their costs are therefore going up.

Some owners may charge customers more for meals and snacks.

The hotel association warned that some small businesses could close and workers could lose their livelihoods.
