India was the fourth-largest producer of mineral fuels in 2024.

Mineral fuels include coal, crude oil and natural gas.

India made about 1.14 billion tonnes of these fuels.

Most of India’s production was coal, which made up about 95% of its total.

China produced the most, with 4.81 billion tonnes.

The United States was second and Russia was third.

Indonesia followed India in fifth place.

The five biggest producers together made nearly two-thirds of the world’s mineral fuels.
