Amarnath Yatra Surpasses 4.22 Lakh Pilgrims Despite Weather Challenges
The Amarnath Yatra is a big journey that many people take every year to visit a holy cave in the Kashmir Himalayas.
This year, more than 4.22 lakh people have gone on this journey.
However, the weather has been very bad with lots of rain, which caused some problems.
One of the routes to the cave, called the Pahalgam route, had to be closed because it was damaged by the rain.
The other route, called Baltal, is still open and working well.
The authorities are making sure everyone is safe by following special rules and checking the weather every day.
They are also fixing the damaged route so it can be opened again soon.
The journey is expected to end on August 28.
The Amarnath Yatra has surpassed 4.22 lakh pilgrims despite weather challenges and the closure of the Pahalgam axis.
The Baltal route remains fully functional, allowing uninterrupted pilgrimage.
Persistent rainfall has forced the closure of the Pahalgam route for significant repair work.
Authorities are following strict SOPs and weather advisories to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
The Yatra resumed on Saturday after a six-day suspension and is scheduled to conclude on August 28.
