Spider‑Man: Brand New Day Sets Indian Hollywood Record
A new Spider‑Man movie came out in India on July 31, 2026.
It made a huge amount of money on the first day, more than any other Hollywood movie had ever made in India.
The English version earned the most money, followed by the Hindi version.
The movie was shown in many theaters and many people went to see it.
Because it made so much money, it might affect how well other Indian movies do at the same time.
Spider‑Man: Brand New Day opened in India on July 31, 2026, earning ₹60.60 crore net (₹72.44 crore gross) on its first day, the highest opening for a Hollywood film in the country.
The English version collected ₹32.25 crore net, while the Hindi dubbed version earned ₹22 crore net; Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions added ₹3.25 crore, ₹3 crore, ₹0.07 crore and ₹0.03 crore respectively.
Overall occupancy on opening day was reported at 72.3 % (some reports cite 56.6 %) across 17,250 shows, with the Hindi version achieving the highest occupancy at 95 %.
Globally, the film is projected to gross $70–$75 million in North America from preview shows and an opening‑weekend haul of roughly $325 million, with some trade reports estimating up to $800 million.
The record opening is expected to impact the box‑office performance of contemporaneous Bollywood releases such as Chennai Love Story, Srinivasa Mangapuram and Newton’s 3rd Law.
