Indian Gold Prices Dip While Silver Rates Rise Across Cities
Gold prices went down a little in Indian shops on 23 September.
This happened while news reported talks between the United States and Iran at a United Nations meeting.
Silver prices moved in the opposite direction and went up.
The exchange price for gold was ₹153,420 per 10 grams.
Silver futures were priced at about ₹240,720 per kilogram.
Gold is sold as 24-karat and 22-karat metal.
Twenty-four-karat gold is purer, while 22-karat gold is often used for jewellery because it is stronger.
Prices were different in cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Retail 24-karat and 22-karat gold prices declined marginally across major Indian cities on 23 September.
Silver 999 prices increased in the domestic bullion market, contrasting with gold’s movement.
The Multi Commodity Exchange of India’s gold futures were down 0.13% at ₹153,420 per 10 grams.
Silver futures were up about 0.31% at ₹240,720 per kilogram around 9:22 a.m.
Retail rates were listed for New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai, with 24-karat gold highest in Chennai at ₹153,590 per 10 grams.
