Mutual Funds Reach Record AUM
The mutual fund industry in India has grown a lot in 2025.
It now has a record amount of money, called AUM, which is ₹81 lakh crore.
This growth happened because more people, especially regular investors, are putting their money into mutual funds.
A lot of this money comes from something called SIPs, which is a way to invest small amounts regularly.
The industry has been growing for many years, and this year it added ₹14 lakh crore to its total.
Experts say this growth is because people are becoming more aware of investing and are choosing mutual funds as a safe and easy way to grow their money.
The industry is also getting support from good market performance and new rules that make investing more transparent.
Mutual fund industry in India reached a record AUM of ₹81 lakh crore by November 2025.
The industry added ₹14 lakh crore to its asset base in 2025, driven by strong retail participation and record SIP inflows.
Net inflows in 2025 were ₹7 lakh crore, with equity schemes receiving ₹3.53 lakh crore and debt schemes ₹3 lakh crore.
SIP inflows crossed ₹3 lakh crore annually, with monthly contributions peaking at ₹29,529 crore in October.
Regulatory changes, including the introduction of the Base Expense Ratio (BER), aim to enhance transparency for investors.
