Naidu Orders Speedy Construction of 5,000 Temples in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu wants 5,000 new temples built across the state.
Officials must first choose the places where the temples will be constructed.
They have received proposals for 4,192 temples, and 967 temples are already finished.
Some temples will be prioritised for disadvantaged communities and certain settlements.
Naidu also wants 1,000 old temples repaired.
He asked officials to train more priests and keep digital records of the temples.
He wants volunteers, doctors and devotees to help with temple, healthcare and charity services.
He also suggested expanding TTD schools, hospitals and spiritual programmes.

Construction will prioritise SC and ST colonies, fishermen settlements, weaker sections’ colonies and general areas.
Naidu ordered restoration of 1,000 ancient temples and called for priest-training courses, temple digitisation and management planning.
He also directed expansion of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams healthcare, education, charity and spiritual programmes, including doubling hostel capacity.
