Tripura Plans Uninterrupted Power Supply During Durga Puja

Tripura wants homes and celebrations to have electricity throughout Durga Puja.

The state electricity company is preparing to provide up to 410 megawatts during the busiest hours.

Last year, demand peaked at 373 megawatts, and the company had planned for 380 megawatts.

Tripura usually gets extra electricity from Mizoram during the festival.

Officials say that arrangement will continue this year.

The electricity company has also been told to plan for unexpected problems.

The weather department has ruled out the likelihood of heavy rain during the festival.

It will provide a fuller report a day before October 10 so the government can decide whether precautions are needed.
