India Reports 29 FDI Proposals Under Relaxed Border Rules

India changed some rules about foreign investment.

The new rules let certain investors from countries sharing a land border with India invest more easily.

They can hold up to 10% of a company without controlling it.

Investors can use an automatic route, although other limits and conditions still apply.

The government says 29 investment proposals have been reported.

Together, the proposals are worth Rs 4,895.65 crore, or $511.5 million.

The projects involve areas such as technology, artificial intelligence, manufacturing and medicines.

The reports give different months for when the new rules began: March and May 2026.
