Trainee ADOs Visit Handloom Cluster

Seventeen trainee Assistant Development Officers (ADOs) visited Bhoodan Pochampally to learn about handloom weaving.

They met with officials and weavers at the Handloom Cooperative Society.

A Srinivasa Rao, the District Assistant Director of Handlooms and Textiles, explained how the cooperative societies work, the jobs they create, and the special government schemes to help handloom workers.

He also talked about the unique Pochampally Ikat fabrics and how they are made and sold.

The trainees then visited the Kalapunarvi handloom unit to see the entire process from yarn to finished fabric.
