Nagaland Police to Launch Single-Window Complaint Portal Soon
Nagaland Police plans to create one online place where people can report complaints.
The portal is expected to start within 10 to 12 days.
People will be able to see what is happening with their complaint.
They may also be able to download the police inquiry report.
Police will check whether a complaint concerns a serious crime, a less serious offence or a civil disagreement.
Serious crimes require the police to register a First Information Report.
Civil disputes usually cannot be handled by the police.
The system may help police notice repeated reports of abuse or harassment.
Officials also asked people to report violence so authorities can better provide support.
