Trump Revives Iran Regime-Change Rhetoric as War and Talks Shift

Donald Trump is again asking people in Iran to oppose their government.

Earlier in the war, he also encouraged Iranians to rise up.

Later, he said he did not care about changing Iran’s government and called its new leaders rational.

That change happened while the United States was trying to negotiate with Iran.

Now the talks have stopped and fighting has become more intense.

The United States is also threatening economic pressure that could make life harder in Iran.

American intelligence says there is not much evidence that these actions will cause the government to fall.

Iran’s leaders say the country is facing a large economic, military, and security war.

It is still unclear whether Trump’s comments show a real strategy or another change in his approach.
