A rabid dog bit eight children in a village.

All of the children were younger than 10.

One five-year-old boy became seriously ill and was taken to a hospital in Kakinada.

The other children stayed at a hospital in Allavaram.

Dr. Srikanth saw staff washing the wounds with RIN soap.

He said the hospital should use other listed medical supplies and follow treatment rules.

The hospital superintendent said the staff were following World Health Organization-approved procedures.

A Telugu Desam leader said Dr. Srikanth was interfering and trying to make the issue political.
