Pregnant Sloth Bear Dies of Septic Shock at Vizag Zoo
A 12-year-old mama bear at the zoo was going to have a baby, but sadly, the baby inside her stopped growing and turned into a mummy.
This caused a big infection, like a very bad sickness, called septic shock.
The doctors tried their best to help her, but she passed away.
They found out what happened after they looked at her body closely.
The zoo says they always try to take good care of all the animals.
A 12-year-old female Sloth Bear died at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park.
The bear was five months pregnant at the time of her death.
The cause of death was septicemic shock, stemming from a mummified fetus.
The animal had shown signs of abortion and vaginal discharge before her passing.
A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death.
