Harry Kane is waiting to learn whether he has won the Ballon d'Or, with the result due on Monday.

The England captain and Bayern Munich striker is the bookmakers' favourite to become the first English winner since Michael Owen in 2001, but Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and Lionel Messi are also among the 30 nominees.

The organisers do not tell winners in advance, so Kane says he is still in the dark.

He scored in Bayern's 2-2 draw with Arsenal, extending his Champions League scoring run to 10 consecutive games; only Cristiano Ronaldo has a longer run.

Kane says he would prefer to know the result beforehand, but is trying not to stress and to focus on football.

Bayern face Freiburg on Sunday, before the Ballon d'Or ceremony on Monday.
