Analyst urges Jeremiah Smith to sit out rest of Ohio State season

Ohio State lost 41-28 to Oregon, putting its College Football Playoff hopes in doubt.

Jeremiah Smith caught seven passes for 133 yards and a touchdown in the defeat.

The Buckeyes have lost two straight since starting quarterback Julian Sayin suffered an injury expected to end his season.

Former NFL player Damien Harris urged Smith to sit out the rest of the season and prepare for the 2027 NFL Draft, saying he has more to lose than gain by playing.

Smith holds Ohio State records for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns, and won a national title with the team in 2024.

Ohio State has three games left, including its finale against Michigan, and new playoff rankings are due Tuesday.
