CBI investigates alleged ₹10.24 crore fraud at Greater Noida PNB branch

The CBI has filed an FIR over alleged fraud at a Punjab National Bank branch in Greater Noida.

The bank’s complaint alleges that ₹10.24 crore was taken over three years from customers’ savings accounts and fixed deposits.

A bank employee, Deepanshi, is accused of misusing officials’ credentials and disabling transaction alerts, with several account holders also named in the FIR.

Many of the affected customers are farmers in Birondi who received compensation for land sold for the Jewar airport project.

The alleged fraud came to light when a customer visiting to update her passbook questioned transactions she did not recognise.

The CBI is now investigating how customers’ savings disappeared, while the farmers face uncertainty over money they had set aside for homes and family needs.
