South Korean liquor Captain Q returns after 11 years

Lotte Chilsung has brought back Captain Q in South Korea, 11 years after production stopped.

The 35% spirit first appeared in 1980 and became popular for its relatively low price.

It sold more than 10 million bottles within five months of its launch, and people often drank it at university trips and gatherings.

As more consumers turned to premium whisky, Captain Q faded from the market and production ended in 2015.

Its return has prompted people online to share memories and jokes about its strong reputation for causing a hangover.

Some joked that drinkers would only feel recovered two days later, not the next morning.

The relaunch has revived nostalgia among older drinkers, though no further plans for the product are given.
