Hannover 96 removes Jonas Boldt as sporting director
Hannover 96 has removed Jonas Boldt as sporting director, effective immediately.
The German club said its supervisory board unanimously approved the decision, and Henning Bindzus is now the club’s sole managing director.
Boldt took the role in June 2026 and appointed Sandro Wagner as coach in September.
Hannover has fallen to 16th place in Germany’s second division, a relegation play-off position.
Criticism of Boldt included the club’s transfer dealings and his holiday before a derby that Hannover lost 2-0 to Eintracht Braunschweig.
This is the club’s third restructuring in less than a year; a previous sporting director, Jörg Schmadtke, left after three months.
Wagner is expected to stay for now, though U23 coach Lars Barlemann is a possible interim option.
