IMSS details Mexican family doctors’ pay after Sheinbaum rejects salary claims
Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum rejected claims that Cuban doctors earn more than Mexican doctors.
She said Cuban doctors hired in Mexico receive the same fees as their Mexican counterparts and work in remote communities that lack specialists.
The Mexican Social Security Institute, known as IMSS, then shared pay details for a family doctor with one year of service.
After an 8% increase that took effect on October 16, the doctor’s net monthly salary is 39,120 pesos.
When annual benefits are spread across the year, the estimated monthly equivalent is 53,396 pesos, but that figure is not the amount paid each month.
IMSS listed annual benefits worth 171,311 pesos, including a 90-day year-end bonus and a savings fund.
Pay can rise with seniority, with an additional 60 days of salary per year starting after five years of service.

That Cuban doctors earn more than Mexicans is false, absolutely false, and that they are also hired through a company is also false.
