Xiong’an launches its first bonded warehouse and TIR shipment

Xiong’an launched its first bonded-plus-TIR shipment on October 13, when an international truck left its comprehensive bonded zone in China.

The truck carries goods worth nearly 300,000 yuan and is due to travel via the Manzhouli border crossing to Vladivostok, Russia.

The shipment combines bonded warehousing with TIR road transport, which allows goods to move across borders under a shared international customs system.

The goods were stored in the bonded zone before shipment, and customs paperwork, loading and sealing were completed there.

The journey is expected to take 10 to 12 days, about 15 days less than traditional road transport, according to estimates for this shipment.

The combined approach is expected to save about 28,000 yuan in overall costs, while reducing time goods spend in transit and storage.

The truck has set off for Russia; no further steps or schedule were given.
