Bangka Tengah crash kills lecturer, her husband and two children
A crash in Bangka Tengah killed four people on Saturday: university lecturer Erika Fitri Wardani, her husband and their two children.
The family was travelling in a Honda Brio on a road in Jelutung, in Indonesia’s Bangka Belitung Islands.
The Brio was suspected of crossing into the opposite lane after its driver lost control.
It collided with a Fuso truck, and the car was badly crushed beneath it.
All four people in the car died, including two children who were in primary school and kindergarten.
Police are investigating the cause, while the truck driver has been questioned; the family’s bodies are to be taken to Curup, Erika’s family home.
