IDCF Cloud Restores Backup Access for 194 Affected Customers
IDC Frontier says some IDCF Cloud customers can now retrieve backups after an outage caused by unauthorized access.
The outage affected 495 companies and local governments, and 194 of them had used a feature that saves copies of server data.
Those customers’ backups can be retrieved, though whether the data can be restored and how it will be provided are being handled individually.
The company says it found no evidence that virtual-server data was viewed or taken.
Separately, unauthorized queries reached information registered by 48 companies in the IDCF Cloud portal, including company details, account login information, email addresses and monthly charges.
IDC Frontier found no evidence that this portal information was taken outside the service, and it is contacting affected customers.
Servers in regions unaffected by the outage remain usable, and the company is preparing an easier way for customers to make backups.
IDCF Frontier said customers affected by an unauthorized-access incident can retrieve backups for some IDCF Cloud virtual servers.
