Masked group attacks occupied Nomentano high school in Rome

A masked group attacked Rome’s Nomentano high school at night while students were occupying it.

The school is a science high school, and students had begun the occupation on November 2.

A video shows youths throwing desks and chairs at the entrance and kicking the gates.

Students called it a far-right attack, but that claim has not been established.

Police and the Digos investigative unit are working to identify those responsible, and investigators have not ruled out any line of inquiry.

The school’s principal did not comment on the attack, but said the occupation had caused damage to school facilities.

The investigation is still under way, with police seeking to reconstruct what happened.
