Seahawks Activate Zach Charbonnet, Place Elijah Arroyo on Injured Reserve

The Seattle Seahawks activated running back Zach Charbonnet from the reserve/PUP list on Thursday, clearing him to return to the 53-man roster.

Charbonnet, 25, is returning after an ACL tear suffered in last season’s divisional round, and is set to make his season debut against the Chiefs on Sunday night.

Seattle’s running game ranks 18th in the NFL in rushing yards and yards per carry, so the team will look to Charbonnet to strengthen its backfield.

First-round rookie Jadarian Price is also a running back, but he is on injured reserve with a chest injury.

To make room for Charbonnet, Seattle placed tight end Elijah Arroyo on injured reserve after he underwent shoulder surgery.

Arroyo will miss the rest of the season, leaving tight end AJ Barner and backups Eric Saubert and Nick Kallerup on the roster.

Charbonnet will be asked to help the offense as Seattle faces Kansas City in Week 7.
